Choices

Jeannie Gough - Team Leader, Dr. Doug Hanson & Dr. Claudio Candusso

We all must learn to accept responsibility for our choices. Accepting this responsibility empowers us to control our own lives. If you choose not to accept liability for your choices you fall victim to self-pity, "Poor Me," or "Look what they made me do." Occasionally everyone falls victim to self-pity, but it is no way to live your life if you want to be happy.
If we keep our opinions to ourselves, we have no one to fault, if we feel that we have lost control of our lives.

"Ultimately, we are responsible for that choice." Carl Hiebert. Blaming others for our problems is an easy way out. The world's greatest lie is " ... at some point we lose control of our life and we are controlled by fate."

Change is a fact of life, at home, at work, and at play, how we choose to respond to it, as a leader, or as a follower, determines our personal growth. If we choose to face a change with a negative attitude we will have a negative experience. Whether we choose to focus on our problems or our possibilities is a key factor affecting our own personal happiness. If we choose to hear the message the sender is giving and choose to ignore the tone, body language, etc., we will find ourselves less stressed and much happier. We cannot change anyone else, we can only change ourselves. This is a choice! We need to be honest with ourselves first! If we lie to our-selves why would we not lie to others??
Remember you have a choice!!
