The Crown Council is a prestigious alliance of dentists throughout North America who support each other to be leaders in their profession. Their focus is humanitarian rather than technical dentistry to achieve rewards in personal, professional, and practice growth, as well as giving back to their communities through charity work and fundraising.

One of the largest fundraisers supported by Crown Council is called "Smiles For Life." Each year from March through June, participating offices donate the proceeds made from tooth whitening offered to their patients. Through a partnership with Garth Brooks and his “Team Mates for Kids” foundation, the money raised by Smiles For Life is then distributed to worthy charities for children, across North America.

Dr. Lawrence Hoffman and his team from Callander, Ontario whitened 140 smiles in 2004, and raised almost $34,000.00. They were recognized as the top Canadian office for funds raised. Half of the money went to a local children’s charity, while the remaining was divided between Sick Kids Hospital and Camp Trillium for children living with cancer.

In Arizona at the annual Crown Council event, Dr. Hoffman and his team were thrilled to have a front row view of Garth Brooks and Trisha Yearwood as a fabulous “thank you” for their efforts.

Also in Arizona were Joe Garagiola and Curt Schilling who spoke passionately about their efforts to eliminate chew tobacco. Other top international speakers included Dan Clark, Mark Sandborn, Harry Beckwith, Dave Webber, and Jeanne Robertson, all of whom touched everybody on a personal level and challenged them to become more than they are. The entire event was an incredible, unforgettable experience!
