WE DID IT!

The Transitions Group "Team" made it to the top and brought back the photos to prove it! Here are a few words from our climbers.
Linda Anderson - MT MARCY-what a learning experience
I learned about team building, raising funds, training on ski hills and climbing in the dark. I learned to breathe deeply and to appreciate the moment. Climbing in the dark was totally about being in the present and was quite an amazing feeling. Only being aware of your breathe and the space right in front of you.
I learned that children will learn how to take care of their oral health and that will be something that they have long after the team of doctors are gone.
What a gift-Learning is.
Gavin Rouble - For me the climb was a truly wonderful experience. Head Office provides “back office” service to our frontline team members – our coaches, tradeshow team, and speakers. Leading head office means I don’t often take a more visible role representing Transitions. This was one of the first times that I was able to get out of the office and become involved with other members of the dental industry – and it was all for a wonderful cause. I was able to speak with dentists and other industry service providers about their experiences as well as their view of the industry as a whole. As a result of the nature of the event – a 10 hour, 24 km hike up a mountain – the discussions that took place went far beyond what would happen over lunch at a tradeshow or immediately following a speaking engagement. The camaraderie that developed amongst the climbers who were all facing the same physical and mental challenge of completing the hike lent itself to a degree of openness that does not normally develop in a 30 minute or 1 hour long meeting. With guards down, we all spoke freely and honestly as we worked our way to what at times felt like the ever distant summit. When we finally did reach our destination, a cold and windy outcropping of largely bare rock partially shrouded in cloud cover, the feeling of accomplishment and the incredibly beautiful views made the hours of training, the 2:30 am wake up call, and 5 hours of hiking all seem like such small and insignificant sacrifices. It was an incredible experience for an incredible cause. For me, the experiential benefit that I received from this experience is most certainly as great as the physical benefit that the people of Cambodia will receive through an increased access to dental care.
Marilyn Potts -
I have decided that most of all I am grateful for the Climb for the Cause Experience
I am grateful that I work with a team who create better health for others
I am grateful that I work with team members who create a dream and help each other fulfill it
I am grateful that I work with clients who are so generous and supportive
I am grateful that I work with a boss who gets up at 2:30 am to cheer us on
I am grateful that I work with team members who stick with me through dark, windy, hot rocky times
I am grateful that I work with team members who have an extra light when mine goes out
I am grateful I have the health and strength to do a 10 hours of climbing
I am grateful that I had so much fun in post climb celebrating
We, at Transitions Group North America, are very proud to have been a part of this truly wonderful experience. Not just to have succeeded in the climb, but to have succeeded in the fundraising to contribute to this very worthy cause.
THANK YOU to all of you that supported, encouraged and prayed for us!
